The Faculty of Science of the University of Amsterdam attaches great importance to the contribution of female scientists in research and education. For this reason we are continuing the recruitment programme for talented women in science, named after the ground breaking crystallographer professor Carolina MacGillavry (1904-1993), an alumna of the University of Amsterdam.
Started in 2010, the MacGillavry Fellowship Programme aims to attract top female talent. Within the programme, there have been three rounds; in 2011, 2013 and in 2019. A fourth round was launched in autumn 2023. The faculty is immensely proud of all the fellows who have joined the faculty and risen to the top of science.
