Researchers from the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law teach Bachelor’s and Master’s courses at the Faculty of Law and at Amsterdam University College. In addition, they offer post-academic courses for legal professionals, including attorneys, civil servants, and judges.

Within the Bachelor’s programme in Law, the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law offers the courses Constitutional and Administrative Law, Rule of Law and Democracy, Administrative Law, and Administrative Procedural Law. The department is also involved in the project-based courses Sustainability and Digitalisation, as well as in the minor Human Rights in Modern Society. In addition, the department provides teaching within the Bachelor’s programme Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics and at Amsterdam University College.

At the Master’s level, the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law is responsible for the Master’s programme in Constitutional and Administrative Law. This programme combines academic depth with the practical application of constitutional and administrative law. Our Master’s students are trained to become critically minded professionals in constitutional and administrative law – a profile that is in high demand in legal practice.

Together with students from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, our Master’s students are active in the Study Association for Public Law (Studievereniging voor Publiekrecht, SVP). SVP organises both academic and social events for students interested in constitutional and administrative law. Learn more about SVP on their website.

In addition to university teaching, the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law also offers post-academic courses for legal professionals, including attorneys, civil servants, and judges.
