The Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law researches and teaches constitutional and administrative law in an integrated manner. The focus lies on current legal issues concerning the relationship between citizens and the government, as well as the interplay between politics, administration, and judiciary.

Researchers from the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law teach Bachelor’s and Master’s courses at the Faculty of Law and at Amsterdam University College. They are responsible for the Master’s programme in Constitutional and Administrative Law, which is known for its combination of academic depth and practical application of the law. In addition, they offer post-academic courses for legal professionals, including attorneys, civil servants, and judges.
